Vic: Security guard tackles alleged armed robber

Police have arrested a 27-year-old man who was tackled and disarmed by a security guard
at the scene of an alleged attempted armed robbery last night in Forest Hill, in Melbourne's
east.

Police say a man jumped the counter and brandished a knife at the Canterbury Road fast
food store about 9 pm before he was handed cash by an attendant.

Police said they arrived at the store a short time later to find a man being held apprehended
by the security guard.

Police believe the incident is linked to an armed robbery at the store last Thursday night.
